Cycle 02 — What Remains Open
Date: 2026-10-12. Evidence cutoff: 337c82755a57a175ff84091a2d2c7eefc6ba51f8. D-0020 accepts this bounded open-work register. It records limits and candidate evidence; it does not resolve a Question, select a receiving Cycle, or authorize an experiment.
Question-level boundaries
| Question / status | What Cycle 02 leaves open | Evidence that could change the assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Q-0 Continuation / ACTIVE | The accepted packages do not classify arbitrary preservation criteria, transformation domains or continuation conditions. | A separately scoped criterion and admissible transformation family, with independent witnesses or a sufficient-bound argument. |
| Q-1 Revision / OPEN | No package tests rules, criteria or representations becoming objects of transformation. | A PC04 operational contract that distinguishes object revision from revision of the judgment rule, followed by reviewed protocol and authorization. |
| Q-2 Reachability / ACTIVE | RP005A remains limited to its finite graph, supplied restrictions, fixed targets and declared budgets; RP006 does not extend those conclusions. | A declared comparison varying a relevant assumption while fixing target, cost and budget origins; robust safety needs its own definition and evidence. |
| Q-3 Representation / ACTIVE | RP006 classifies whole-field masks only on six reused constructions and two exact inquiry families. It does not establish minimality, arbitrary-domain sufficiency, bit-optimality or robustness. | A new domain/query family with independently specified truth, or a proof/audit for a smaller representation and explicit counterexamples where it fails. Review prior art and freeze scope before execution. |
| Q-4 Realized History / ACTIVE | The possible reduction to Q-3 and any universal requirement to retain realized history remain unestablished. | A defined inquiry family and mapping from history distinctions to preserved consequences, plus a scope boundary or counterexample. Vocabulary overlap is insufficient. |
| Q-5 Relational Dependence / OPEN | No package isolates relational information's added explanatory or functional value over local properties for a declared target. | A scoped PC05 design with capacity/leakage controls and a meaningful no-added-value case. |
Question-set completeness and independence are not assumed. These are candidate evidence paths, not commitments to run them. The current internal reviews do not substitute for external scientific review or exhaustive novelty assessment.
Method and source limits
RP006 independently replayed one authorized run over registered fixtures that RP004 had already introduced. Its exact classifications do not add new cases or independent empirical confirmation. The eight masks are whole-field ablations; they do not exhaust arbitrary encodings or establish a globally smallest representation. Preserve the registered query definitions, negative/conflict outcomes, UNKNOWN responses and incomparable masks when interpreting the finite result.
The five Results have unlike units and designs. Their counts cannot be pooled as a common sample or used to infer prevalence. Graph references establish traceability, not transitive support. PC01–PC03 remain FROZEN and PC04–PC06 DRAFT. The Cycle 01 timing deviation and incomplete RP002A attempt remain historical records; later reviews do not erase or backdate them. DAM/DAM X primary-source and survival judgments retain their separate documented limits.
Remaining Cycle obligations
| Obligation | Next required work |
|---|---|
| Transition Record / Cycle 03 decision | Use the accepted evidence, this open-work register and the existing dependency record to select, defer or decline a next direction. State scope, dependencies, acceptance conditions and any execution gates. Do not open Cycle 03 implicitly. |
| Close bundle and knowledge snapshot | After transition disposition, assemble the accepted Results, protocols, negative/indeterminate evidence, deviations, reviews, open questions and transition. Record a separate close Decision and canonical snapshot; preserve an immutable close anchor and verify publication provenance. |
D-0020 resolves only What Changed and What Remains Open. Cycle 02 is OPEN at 7/9; the two obligations above remain unresolved. No additional run, baseline amendment, Claim, question resolution or Cycle transition is authorized by this register.
Revision rule and references
Material evidence or a defect should be handled by a subsequent dated record and Decision without overwriting this cutoff. Preserve original outputs and distinguish corrections from later scope extensions.
