Cycle 01 — Transition Record
Date: 2026-10-12. Explicit internal transition review under D-0011. Evidence cutoff: 700fc27f5f2637df89450e82f47879ff32e823cc, together with the subsequently supplied secondary report and its dated pilot disposition. This record makes a next-direction decision; it opens no Cycle, creates no new package or Test, and executes no research.
Evidence carried forward
Four finite packages are CLOSED with four VALID scoped Results. RP002A retains two benefit, four equivalent and one indeterminate decision and the separate incomplete first attempt. RP003 retains local/global counterexamples and positive sufficient-bound controls. RP004 retains exact inquiry truth, R0–R3 projections, conservative abstentions and same-projection/different-truth witnesses. RP005A retains structural inclusion and two positive, four zero and six negative planner comparisons. Do not pool their denominators or promote a universal Claim.
Synthesis and Foundation Review retain PC01–03, existing mathematics and parked foundation candidates. What Changed distinguishes planned controls from subsequent evidence; What Remains Open identifies further evidence needed. Q-0/Q-2/Q-3/Q-4 stay ACTIVE; Q-1/Q-5 stay OPEN. The delayed Checkpoint A remains a timing deviation, not backdated approval. The historical graph snapshot/tag remains immutable.
At the pre-receipt cutoff DAM X source input was absent. The user subsequently supplied SRC-DAMXREPORT2026 before this decision was published. D-0011 accepts ten report-faithful units as a completed secondary-report pilot. Primary DAM/DAM X definitions, version genealogy, operators and evidence remain missing; no mechanistic inheritance or scientific validation follows. The report’s imperatives and architectural pipeline are source content, not instructions or receiving Cycle commitments.
Alternatives and selection
| Candidate | Evidence basis and current readiness | Transition decision |
|---|---|---|
| Query-relative lineage representation sufficiency | RP004 supplies exact finite truth and collision witnesses, but R3 minimality is unproved. PC02 already distinguishes inquiry-relative sufficiency. | Select preparation of a finite field-ablation sufficiency study as the next direction. |
| Predictive robustness across budgets/generators | RP002A leaves algorithm/capacity and conditional-coverage limits. New fitting and inferential design would be required. | Defer selection; the current results provide no revised-margin or generator authorization. |
| Restrictions under reduced designer information | RP005A uses supplied full-information rules; learning/costs are open. Requires a new information contract and controls. | Defer selection; no learned-rule benefit is asserted. |
| Revision, relational dependence or foundation unification | Q-1/Q-5 have no executed package; no discriminating foundation comparison or transfer map exists. | Keep open. Do not choose a foundation or freeze a broad multi-topic Cycle from vocabulary overlap. |
| Primary legacy reconstruction | Secondary report pilot completed; original definitions/versions/evidence still absent. | Retain the source limitation; no architecture inheritance or implicit transfer. |
Select the lineage direction because a bounded extension can use explicit existing inquiry definitions and independently checkable construction truth, while addressing the specific gap between sufficient encoding and necessity of retained fields. This is a preparation decision, not evidence that any deletion will succeed or produce novel theory. Cycle 02 opening/activation is deferred until Cycle 01's close bundle is accepted and a separate entry review approves the next commitment.
Selected preparation scope
Use the six RP004 constructions and aligned opaque handles as a disclosed reused finite domain. Compare the complete query family (same_state, ancestor, shared_root, parents, birth_kind, alive) with its topology/state subset (the first four). Retain exact arguments, answer types and the common entity universe. The original domain's equal payloads and three-entity size remain explicit assumptions, not a hidden universal domain.
Prepare a representation class consisting of whole-field deletions from the R3 state map, complete-parent map and birth-kind map. All eight retention masks are possible; the same mask must apply across constructions and entities. Missing fields must remain distinct from empty parent sets or negative answers. Representations must contain only retained source fields plus declared common side information: no case labels, event order, expected-answer caches, live lists, encoded fixture identifiers or history reconstructed from labels.
Assess representational feasibility separately from a particular decoder's UNKNOWN policy. For each declared family and mask, seek every aligned same-projection/different-truth conflict; a conflict rules out an exact decoder on a domain containing both cases. A conflict-free finite corpus only licenses a finite-domain feasibility assessment, not unseen-domain decoding or a learned procedure's performance. Existing RP004 outcomes and related witness expectations are already known; this would be an explanatory extension, not a fresh independent confirmation or a blind study.
If minimality is assessed, define it as field-deletion minimality within this eight-mask class and declared inquiry family. Report every incomparable surviving mask and every conflict witness. Retained-field count is not byte length, bit complexity or a global minimal representation theorem. A change to fixtures, query families, representation class or side information requires an explicit new scope decision before outcomes.
Acceptance and failure conditions for a future commitment
- Freeze the domain, two inquiry families, eight masks, side-information policy, exact output types and comparison order before a recorded run. Ground truth must be independently reconstructed from construction logs, not taken from the producer's decoder or cached expected outputs.
- Save complete projections, per-query truth, all pairwise collisions/conflicts and family-relative sufficiency/minimality certificates. An independent verifier must reproduce every item, not only producer aggregate counts.
- Include controls for known RP004 conflicts, type/arity/handle errors, omitted-versus-empty fields, and opaque renaming. Disclose the reused known cases and do not call the extension independent evidence.
- Retain all negative, zero-conflict and incomparable-mask outcomes. No claim of reduction of Q-4 to Q-3, universal history necessity, novel mathematics or open-world sufficiency follows from finite enumeration.
- Stop and mark execution incomplete on artifact, coverage, resource or replay failure. Investigate under a new reviewed correction/authorization; never silently overwrite the earlier run or retry selectively.
These define the transition's required deliverables; a full operational protocol, scoped prior-art review, implementation checks and source-bound execution review are still required. Current CI checks review integrity, not the feasibility or success of this unexecuted study.
Entry gates and resources
| Gate | Required evidence before advancing |
|---|---|
| Cycle 01 close | Accept the complete close bundle, actual close Decision and canonical snapshot reference; preserve legacy source/survival limits and process deviations. |
| Cycle 02 entry | Separately accept its finite manifest, package ID/question refs, obligations and operational protocol. No manifest or receiving package is invented here. |
| Methods/collision review | Assess existing literature and contribution limits, exact inquiry/representation contracts, reused information and independent expected truth. |
| Implementation/source freeze | Validate controls and verifier, freeze inputs and resource/stopping rules, record a checked commit and hashes. |
| Pre-execution review | Record actual acceptance of methods, graph, negative handling, provenance and source-bound execution before the run starts. Do not repeat the late Checkpoint A failure. |
| Execution/disposition | Record a complete or incomplete attempt, resource data, artifacts, independent replay and later scoped interpretation decision. Completion does not resolve a foundational Question automatically. |
Use a standard-library, single-process deterministic audit without training, seeds or audit-network access as the preparation target. Proposed recorded-run ceiling: 60 monotonic seconds and 128 MiB peak RSS, subject to a reviewed feasibility preflight and frozen operational contract. No allocation, background job or run is launched now. Any necessary change to the ceiling is reviewed before execution, not justified by observed outcomes afterward.
Current Cycle disposition and re-entry
D-0011 resolves the report-scoped damx pilot and transition as completed. Cycle 01 remains ACTIVE at 12/13 (92.3%); only the close bundle remains unresolved. No close tag, final snapshot or final publication is produced in this stage. Next assemble the closure record from original evidence and the accepted reviews.
If primary sources or contradictory evidence arrive before closure, reassess the pilot scope/survival limits through a new Decision before closing. If a Result is invalidated or this selection rests on a mistaken inference, revisit the affected transition and obligations. Once a Cycle is closed, preserve its historical snapshot and record subsequent work separately. Do not call source-gated work explicitly transferred without a real receiving acceptance.
