Decision 0004 - RP002A Cycle 01 package disposition

Date: 2026-10-10. Status: ACTIVE. Post-outcome package/governance decision, based on an explicit internal review. The user requested continued work after the completed benchmark and the explanation of the first Cycle obligation.

Decision

Accept RP-002A's specified finite fixed-budget study as completed. Set the ResearchPackage to CLOSED and resolve the Cycle 01 rp002a obligation as completed. The remaining 12 obligations and Cycle 01 stay ACTIVE/unresolved as applicable. The equal-weight denominator remains 13; recorded completion becomes 1/13.

Evidence and rationale

The unchanged frozen protocol was executed completely in the separately authorized technical retry. Test TST-RP002A002 and audited Result R-RP002A002 retain 60 units, 120 fits and seven conditional decisions: two benefit, four equivalent and one indeterminate. research/RP002A/PACKAGE_REVIEW.md reviews controls, protocol integrity, all outcomes, earlier interruption, contribution boundaries and assumptions. It accepts the declared package deliverables. A completed study can include an indeterminate comparison; resolving its disposition is not a declaration that every hypothesis succeeded.

The E1 history-versus-current benefits and E0/E2 equivalence are scoped to the algorithms, fixtures, conditional independence/normal-theory assumptions and .01-nat margins. E1:B2-B1 remains indeterminate under the frozen benefit rule. No method/margin change, additional sampling, pooled attempt, broad Claim promotion, recurrence-necessity claim or novelty clearance is made. Q-3 and Q-4 stay ACTIVE. The preserved first attempt remains INCOMPLETE, and the second run and all frozen inputs remain unchanged.

Review boundaries and next work

This is an internal review, not independent external peer review. It closes the finite package commitment, with its scientific limits visible. It does not complete Synthesis Review 1, Foundation Review 1, graph validation, Checkpoint A or the Cycle close bundle. Unanswered broader questions remain open; none is represented as an accepted transfer to an invented next Cycle.

Proceed to RP003 protocol preparation next. No new model training, run extension, RP003 experiment or execution approval is created by this decision. Future extensions require a separately reviewed scope and authorization. A material artifact/methodological defect or invalidation requires a new recorded Decision to reopen RP-002A and revisit its obligation.
