Resolve only checkpoint-a and graph-review; seven obligations remain open. No new execution, Claim promotion, synthesis or Cycle closure.

Decision 0008 — Late Checkpoint A and research graph review

Date: 2026-10-11. Status: ACTIVE. Explicit internal review decision following the user's request to continue with Checkpoint A and forward/backward graph validation.

Decision

Accept the actual late Checkpoint A review and the scoped forward/backward graph review as completed. Resolve only Cycle 01's checkpoint-a and graph-review obligations under this decision. Retain all thirteen equal weights and four package dispositions. Cycle 01 remains ACTIVE at 6/13 (46.2%), with seven obligations unresolved.

Timing deviation and evidence judgment

Checkpoint A was intended after RP002A/RP003 and before RP004/RP005A execution. Its separate record was missed; it is now performed after all four packages. Record this governance deviation without backdating approval or asserting that the earlier gate was satisfied. Individual pre-execution reviews did not replace the missing cross-package checkpoint.

The completed RP004/RP005A audits remain independently reproducible under pre-outcome input freezes, complete coverage and resource contracts. The timing failure alone does not establish an artifact or methodological defect in the scoped evidence; leave their Results VALID under this internal assessment. Later material findings may require invalidation, package reopening and revisiting Cycle resolutions. Preserve the deviation for synthesis, transition and the eventual close bundle.

Review basis and limits

cycles/cycle-01/reviews/CHECKPOINT_A.md reviews methods, PC01–03, collisions, negative/surprise handling, provenance, site projections and remaining gates. GRAPH_REVIEW_001.md assesses required queries against source 239c02db76fc6115e877d210cca8d17d77f82e1f: 33 records, eighteen declared relations, forty-five typed references and four backward Result traces. The exclusive JSON snapshot binds historical bytes to that commit and is reconstructed in CI. Typed navigation does not manufacture semantic support or automatic transitive inference.

The living graph gains this Decision and has 34 records; the historical snapshot still has 33. No Claim or Assumption instances are invented, no Question or Result changes status, no package is reopened and no run is executed. The graph review records the MVP's bounded coverage, not exhaustive assumptions, literature or scientific truth. Publication source/version/deployment IDs remain a separate ledger.

Continuation and release anchor

Proceed to Synthesis Review 1 and Foundation Review 1 next. DAM X remains unresolved pending supplied source material or its own explicitly documented disposition. This decision completes neither synthesis nor foundation/transition/close work and creates no Cycle 2 commitment. No new research execution is authorized.

Create cycle-01-checkpoint-a at the checked content merge carrying these dated reviews, after CI passes. Preserve it as an immutable checkpoint anchor, with no retroactive pre-execution meaning. A future material defect needs a new recorded Decision and revised disposition; original evidence stays preserved.
